It's okay though - we got some smooches in later.
Stay safe, stay warm, and stay creative, friends.
Five or six years ago, I briefly dated a stand up comedian. And let me tell you - even though it didn't work out, I learned a lot about bravery from this relationship. Seeing my S.O. and friends up on stage, even though they were scared, was inspiring.
Sometimes they did great; other times the crowd awkwardly chuckled or was silent. But each success or failure helped the comedians grow. Without getting up on that stage, they didn't make progress.
Anyway - that's what I'm doing here: getting up on the stage. Being brave and trying something new, even if I suck at it. Even if the audience is just a couple of friends that I send this link to.

Because it's not 2022 yet, but I want to get in the habit of updating this regularly, I'm going to post a few sketches and doodles from the last few years until it's time to create new stuff.
One comic that I LOVE and found super inspiring is Indexed. This doodle was my first attempt at imitation (which I hope is flattering, even if it's not a great attempt).
FWIW, my sleep schedule has improved slightly over the last couple years, but it's still wonky.
I grew up fighting my brother for control of the funnies pages in the paper, and I learned how to share over Calvin & Hobbes comic books. For the last... 18 years? I've escaped into and grown by reading amazing webcomics like
I love comics, but I've always been more of a consumer instead of a creator. Not sure I'm cut out for it, but you know what? Silly puns and simple doodles make me happy. So cheers to 2022 and a year of doing something just because I feel like it!
